Turtle Mod
This is a no-rush gamemode, where you can relax and build-up defenses before the real battle begins.
Usage
Select the "No Rush" gametype under "Win conditions".Game Rules
Territory is divided equally at the start of the game.
Squads will auto-retreat if they enter enemy territory during the no-rush period.
All weapons are disabled during the no-rush period.
Squads cannot capture new territory during the no-rush period.Features
4 different timers to choose from: 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes.New in 2.0:
Day-Night cycle (with reduced sight radius during the night)
Several AI tweaks (skirmish games are a real challenge now, with the expert CPU being virtually impossible to beat.)
Victory Point Control games
All attacking abilities are disabled during the no-rush period. (CPU player cannot cheat anymore)
territory division is now more equal. Some maps have neutral zones.
vehicles are returned to base when they trespass.

Is it possible somehow to combine this mod with the Cheat Mod? :)
yeah if you copy the files from cheatmod to turtlemod (with directory structure).. and start with -dev ..but you can't play online.

And I quite got that it would be like that before I asked, since cheatmod isn't online/lanplay compatible :)

ADD:
I found some bugs with it though :/ All called in infantry (so far tested) can fire before they're allowed to. Airborne does it, and Sturmtruppen as well. Hope it's fixable :)
ah yes. can be fixed (i think).. but this mod was also designed with a bit of "fair play" in mind. I don't know if you played other RTS games, but in the old days we just used to agree before the game: "10 minutes no rush".. so the most important thing about this mod is the timer and also that the territory is divided equally.
Bugs:
Veichles can go into others teritory.
In 10 min no rush (at least) from like 7-8 min mark (2-3 mins left) or so. Nothing can move but the first engies.
There is only anhilation =(
Yeah I'm not really new to them ^^ that was how it was done when playing Red Alert with the pals and deciding to play a turtle game :)
Just a little annoying when playing with the computer and he "cheats" by building a load of Airborne/Sturmtruppen ^^
But I get the point, and it works great in MP! :)
ok i didn't realize anyone would want to play this alone. Maybe I'll make a skirmish version too someday.. but the vanilla AI is really horrible.. so this would be a lot of work.

We gave the mod a whirl, set the timer to 15 minutes, played on Hedgerow Seige map and when the timer wound down to 00:09 it crashed stating:
Fatal Scar Error
Locked up our game. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but I hit him with off map artiliery about 8 minutes into it.

could you check the error log file for me?.. it's located in: My Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\LogFiles\scarlog....txt

well it somewhat is lagging my computer before i installed i wa fine but its lagging like hell and what the f***k is a goliath doing on allied territory?
it's a multiplayer mod, sry.. the cpu player "cheats".
but im trying to figure how it got thru my barbwire since i blocked off entry points to my turf
i will be releasing a major update later today or tomorrow..
some new features:

The CPU players are really tough now.. CPU normal should be pretty challenging, cpu hard - really hard and cpu expert - virtually impossible. :D (post replay pls if you manage to beat it)
oh btw... better not play on Langres, the cpu player cannot handle the "gaps" very well. There are some other maps that don't work very well.. maybe i can fix it in the next patch... :)

Thanx for this mod. I always had trouble with making defences and the enemy destroying them before they'r finished.

Hey Bucky,
First off great idea for a mod, nothing annoys me and my mates more than not getting a chance to set up traps, ambushes and defences.
I installed ver 2 yesterday,(I never installed any other versions) loaded it up and went to a custom map played skirmish against the computer. The map was sectioned up, half his, half mine, I set my eng to building and after about 3 minutes (I had no-rush 10 min, annih) 2 of my points were being taken over by the enemy.
I thought your mod may not work on custom maps so I loaded up an original coh map, same settings...no-rush 10 min, annih.....
Again after 2-3 minutes my points were being taken over.
The maps start half mine and half the Ai....so I know the mod is working...the only thing that doesnt work is the no-rush..?!?!?
Any suggestions of what I have done wrong would be appreciated. Also when I first load a map up I get an error message saying....I think...."Scars Error game Paused" The game is paused from the start. As soon as I press the pause button the game starts...

thanks.. hmm yes the scar error is the problem. Which map did you play this on?.. and can you give me your scar error log files? that way i can see what the problem is. They're located in My Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes\logfiles\scarlog....txt (where ... is the date and time)

Hi i have a little problem with your mods: around the middle of the installation an error message appear saing: access denied......
Well i try everything but nothing can you help me?
Could you change this to rar or zip please? The .exe is saying Company of Heroes doesn't exist...

My Dad (70 yrs old) quit playing with me because he felt way too rushed and stressed getting set up. Your mod sounds perfect, though I haven't tried it yet.
I downloaded the latest COH 2.101.0 patch, and was wondering if you are going to update your mod to it, or does it work fine with this latest revision?
Also, I will be buying OF, and wanted to know if you are going to have this mod work with that game as well.
