Hi everyone,

I thought these thread might be better in the Maps Q&A forum, but for some reason my account is blocked from posting in there -- something about not having permission. So I apologize if this post is in the wrong area.

I was looking for map ideas and thought it might be fun to play some different kinds of maps. After looking at some of the creations already put forth, I was amazed at the sheer attention to detail. There are already quite a few maps that a purely works of art -- a violent work of art to boot! :D

But there were some I have not found yet (hopefully they're already made and someone can just point to the link to download them). But I'm looking for:

1. maps with great height elevation (perhaps like the Guns of Navarrone -- German artillary placements on a high bank overlooking a peaceful town, with a fortified bridge OR something like taking the beaches of Normandy where German forces were protected in bunkers on hilltops). Mountainous terrain (cliffs and steep elevations) would be great!!

2. rescue maps (perhaps a POW camp or something). Can we create non-combatant units now (like prisoners or towns people)? Can we create limited combatants (like the French Resistance -- perhaps armed with only hand grenades)?

3. sage-brush maps (like from the North African campaign -- some valleys, but large open areas, dry, some brush for cover and concealment).

4. snowy maps (fighting through snow-covered towns or snow-laden forests in the winter -- even with the option of snowing, blizzard conditions, ice patches, freezing rain/sleet)

1. Not sure

2. Yes can to a point. I'm not sure about capturing it, but you can make non-combatants and limited combatants. All you would have to do with remove the weapons from them, reskin them to look like civilians. Same process for limited, except adding the grenade ability (which can be set to auto fire).

3.Check in the maps section here and at RelicNews forum. There are some desert maps.

4. Check the mod 'Battle of the Bulge' for snowy maps.

It is possible to make maps like that, but.....the camera movement would be a nightmare for the player

There are no civilian objects (persons) in the standard game so they would have to be created(skinned) and for that you would need a mod, i donīt think this is possible on a single map with scarcode alone.

3. sage-brush maps (like from the North African campaign -- some valleys, but large open areas, dry, some brush for cover and concealment).

You are lucky :D Henry666 have made some excellent desert maps, just search for them.
4. snowy maps (fighting through snow-covered towns or snow-laden forests in the winter -- even with the option of snowing, blizzard conditions, ice patches, freezing rain/sleet)
Then you are lucky again :D there are a few snow maps uot there too, search for St. Vith or Bizory.;)
