Hi guys. I'm here with a new 6 player map for CoH: OF

You will find lots and lots of defences in this map. Make sure you make good use of them, because you won't be able to trick AI by creating chokepoints. Only 2-4 chokepoints present in the map, which are also very difficult to set up. AI will get you while you will try to do that, because they are also very easy to flank. The map is very good for both infantry and tank combats, because there's a big open field in the middle and areas packed up with defences in the sides. Make sure you watch after your squads, becouse you will need to fill those trenches with some men, before the enemy does!

The visual of the map is also very appealing to the eyes. The city flashing with explosions in one side of the map, forests, river and windmills on the other. Tons of splats and splines to provide best realism. Check it out in the screenshots :)

In a daring move german forces take back the defences along the city border and cut the supply for allies to try and stop the allied invasion currently commencing in the city. The success of allied attack depends intirely on this german operation

-+ Road Patrol win condition +--------------------------

This is a special ScAR coded version of this map. To see the changes play with the Victory Point winning condition.

The point of this win condition is to hold the road by securing the specific ammount of victory points by the road. When one of the teams does it and holds them for enough time the convoy arrives for them and reinforcements arrive for the opposing team. If you hold all the victory points long enough you also get reinforcements to oppose your enemy. Convoy moves along it's path to the other side of the map. Each time a squad arrives at it's destination the opposing team loses victory points. First team to reach 0 victory points loses.

The Convoy Escort win condition designed by me is quite a WiP yet, but i'm sure that you will have lots of fun playing it. And i didn't see much bugs with it yet. The only bug you may encounter is that the convoy stucks in a blob while moving due to constant move orders issued to each squad. But i saw it happen only 2 times or so. That's not much. I've changed the moving path also, so they shouldn't ever do it again

Map install instructions:

-- SGB Install --
Go to your Company Of Heroes/WW2/Data folder
Go to or create Scenarios folder in there
Go to or create mp folder in Scenarios folder
Extract the map archive there
Run your Company Of Heroes in -dev mode. To do so:
Create a shortcut of RelicCOH.exe located in your Company Of heroes folder
Open Shortcuts preferences
Add " -dev" without the quotes (Note the whitespace! Whitespace after the text present in the field is required!) to the Target field.
It should look like this:
"C:\Program Files\THQ\Company Of Heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -dev

When playing custom maps run your CoH through your created shortcut
Enjoy! The map should be in CoH map list in the bottom

Just copy the map file to My Documents/My games/Company Of Heroes/WW2/Scenarios/ folder and play. Although I suggest using the the Mannerheim's CoHLauncher (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=176498)!

just played a round with 5 expert ai, great map, looks great, plays great :)

Since doing lots of modding, i couldn't win last 2 games I played with the settings of Me+Medium CPU vs 2 Expert CPU. AI does quite well in big maps. Or maybe it's just because i get quite low-fps for big maps... I don't think i'm ever going to make these detailed and big maps again, unless i buy a new PC :D

Well i like it this way. Instead of choosing 500 victory points choose 1000 and that's it. People loving 1000 VP will have to edit the map on their own :D

I also can override the ticker per point variable through the code, so that it goes slower. You really need this? :rolleyes:

yep, I won, no problem, my ai mates keept them busy on the left half of the map and I could easily go over the right flank into their base, took me like 30 - 40 min. to win (playing as pe).

Well, i'm starting to think that allies are a bit underpowered... First when i played it was too easy to win with them, and then i started changing stuff the way that lower player gets more resources, easier to use the defences, less negative cover on their side etc. I think i went too far on this

no its ok, yesterday we made another match with 3 human vs. 3 expert ai and we got crushed, uhm, doesnt happen that often :), so its good like it is.

fantastic map, AGameAnx! :) ..the ground textures are absolutely amazing.. only thing that could use some work are the objects (like houses) that you placed.. now you can see the edges very clearly, same thing with the water.. if you know what i mean. But i play at very high resolution (1920 x 1200), so that may be the problem also.. i notice this stuff. :D

I meant where the object meets the ground, it looks a bit unnatural.. Now it looks like the object was "planted" there, instead of a real house. I posted some screenshots for comparison of your map and an official Relic map.
I think making the texture a bit darker around the object or some foliage would help.. anyways, it's no big deal.. the map still looks great! :)

Heh. The building thing is because of the atmosphere settings. I used the default relic atmospheres.

I had to choose atmospheres with minimum soft shadows arround objects because there are lots of sandbags in some places and when this is enabled those places look almost black :)

And the water thingie is just some grass, as i see from the screenshots. I specially removed grass from the water.

But on the other hand that's a good point. I will definately try to cover those thingies up, with grass or some mixed objects, plus some more splats (the soft shadow effect can also be done with splats, so that's definately solvable).

Also specifically that house on the screenshot need some more splats arround him.

Grass added in lots of places.
In the last picture you may also see 2 lines of water crossing the shingle. That's because i've added some geometry waves. Those waves also add FOG. You can see it in that pic too.
Waves with fog also added on the other two water places and the middle of the map (fog looks just like smoke).

Hi Agameanx,

The link to the download at filefront for either version don't seam to be working, tried search the filefront database and no luck, the CoHLaucher also seems screwed up at relicnews forums but found it else where.

Your amp looks awsome, watch the video and really look forward to trying it out.

Can you confrim that the links are dead?:confused:

Yep, they are dead... I completely forgot about this x) I made some changes to the map and also a road patrol win condition and forgot to upload it. Got lazy first, and then forgot... Sorry, i'm all into modding AI atm :D
