[NEW MAP] (6p) Trainz
I have finally got the time to finish this one.
A warmachine needs a lot of supplies and the best way to tranport large quantities of goods is by railway, therefore trains and railyards are always legitimate targets for any armed force, take it or destroy it but donīt let the enemy get it. Go get that railyard, you can resupply on several fuel and ammo dumps all over the area.
On the OF map, you will start at night and during the game, the sun will rise and you will get full daylight (if the game lasts long enough).

The map comes in three versions;
One for 1.71 (can be played in OF too)
Trainz vcoh (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mmzneoumymi)
And one for OF only, the only difference is the change in light(night to day)
Trainz OF (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?lnwzjdmzd4y)
And one for the mapcontest (some buildings changed to fit contest rules)
Trainz.sga (contest version) (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jnkq3znhyjk)

Too bad there's no SGB. I will extract in any way... SGAs are not supported too well atm. I will play with a mod too.

The file size also doesn't seem to impress me :p (since not many objects are used, i guess. My 3v3 SGA maps are 10 MB at least :p)

Also remember this doesn't mean it won't be fun to play it! :)

Going to try it out now!

EDIT: Oh and about the file size - there's only one additional custom image, that's why. Loading screen for example is additional 2MB. Maybe you need some good images? Can help out!

Damn, forgot to rename the loading screen for the OF version  .
Itīs repacked and a new link provided :).

I donīt deliver the SGBīs, iīm sure if people know how to install a mod they too got the knowledge how to extract them from the SGA

I gave it a try. GREAT! The detail is awesome! The layout is perfect. Nice work!

 :D :p

Some things i found (don't take too seriously. Trying to help you make it perfect :D)

Map entry point for allies:

Nice idea, but could use some better detail:
http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/2329/relic00126qx0.th.jpg (http://img132.imageshack.us/my.php?image=relic00126qx0.jpg)

The grids near the western fuel high point doesn't look too realistic :p Don't know why people would build something like this in real life (stupid thought, but whatever) :D

The bridge in the eastern OOB looks a bit edgy :)

The fields near the eastern allies could use some splats

Great map, keep it up!!

Great map, Nobody! :) ...but maybe it could do with a little destruction, because now it looks like all the trains suddenly just stopped. :p

Nobody

They did, someone started shooting around them :D

Jorge

I wouln't put the destruction in it, maybe some craters at some places. But the map is good as it is.

SGA files goes into "documents/my games/company of heroes/ww2/scenarios/mapname.sga

That should work fine for a skirmish game. If you want to play online or LAN, you have to launch the game with mannerheimīs nice little program. :)

Hey nobody, played the map again and found the ai bug, its because of one muni point near the allied starting positions (between the trains), ai doesnt seem to like capturing it and gets stuck there, when i capture the point ai continues to act normal.

I've copied the ".sga" file to my "C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\WW2\Data\Scenarios\MP" folder, but it doesn't show up in my "All Maps" in the game. I am using the " -dev" switch in my COH-OF shortcut.

I would appreciate any suggestions you have.

Thanks!

To use a map in SGA format, you have to place it in:
"Documents/my games/company of heroes/ww2/scenarios/mapname.sga"

The path you have used ("C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\WW2\Data\Scenarios\MP") are for maps in SGB format, which are the developers uncompressed files.

Forgot to chime in. Love the map. I have played several matches on it and it is sweet.

Update:
A few objects moved or changed to improve visual impression and gameplay.
A third version added, this version are one of my two contributions to Relics mapcontest Link to relicnews contest thread (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=186911):p

I don't know what the difference is between .sga and a scar file etc. I downloaded the file(s) to the directory indicated, i'm running with -dev , but nothing shows up under scirmisishs. Thanks in advance for an assist.

Sorry to be so dumb but this path doesn't exist on my computer, do I have to create it manually?

All is well now.

I thought all maps are created equal, they are not. Here's how it works. There are two different paths you can use to store maps:

c:\program files\THQ\Company of Heroes\WW2\Data\scenarios -- This is for .sgb files and uses -DEV option

or

c:\my documents/my games/company of heroes/ww2/scenarios -- This is for .sga files

Thanks
