[WIP] (6p) Trainz
A few screens from my next map, itīs closing in on the release but there are still a few things to be done.
I would love if someone would be kind enough to do a little playtesting on it, but please remember itīs not finished.
1# resourcepoints are not final, they might be toned down a little.
2# still some terrain to finish, especially around player 3.

I think the map looks great, but I didnt enjoy playing it to be honest. It obviously proves that you take time and put alot of effort into your maps. But for me it just was a little too much.:(

You can always guess it was the slow-paced low-fps game that bothered a man playing a 4v4 map :p I'm not saying you shouldn't create 8p maps. It's just that most most players have low-fps with them.
AI is extremely hard to beat on big maps too.
If my guess was right, then try playing it with 3v3 settings, Renegade :)

Also as i see from the screenshots the map is mostly an open movement fields. Try adding various objects maybe? And the sides should be packed with structures, or choke points then :)

Sorry, that i didn't test it myself. I don't usually download custom maps. Only the ones that suit my requirements most (don't even ask about them, those are hard to explain, just some brain-specific stuff :D). I'm busy enough with my own :D

The impression i get now is good.
But maybe there are a bit to much trainrails.

At first look it might seem open and without choke points, but consider that the trains are movement blockers, you can not cross a train you have to go around it.
Railyards are usual very open areas with a few buildings scattered around and a lot of tracks.
I will see if its possible to make more chokepoints, but there are already a bunch of them made by the parked trains, a few more building may also be possible but too many will slow the game, so i have to be careful with that.

How about you move the whole train station to the right or left and cut off half of the much needed sizing down of it. Then make the spare side hedgerow country? Just a suggestion..

Why don't you place some burning wrecks and holes on the map, like there allready was a battle? This can add some additional cover and taste to the map :)

Thanks for the sugestion Renegade, but hedgrow country is not really my taste, and cutting and moving like you sugest will need a complete rebuild of more than half the map, so iīm afraid that is not possible :eek:
There are already lots of cover, all the tracks are elevated 0.5 meter and have cover on each side.

As for the craters/wrecks, i believe they will come soon enough :)

You know, to be totally honest screw our suggestions. Its a really amazing looking map. You don't need to do anything to change it. Its really impressive, just because a couple of chumps didn't enjoy playing it doesnt mean everyone else will follow suit!;)

you dont need to put in more chokepoints, as the map isnt very wide for 6 players - should be easy for each player just to protect a few meters :)

Renegade is right :D It also looks like there's not so much open fields after all
The top is a good infantry combats place. The bottom is an easy chokepoint place and the middle is a great field of tank battles. That last shot from the top gives a bit more detailed information. I see some more walls outthere :p
