Cheat Mod - new version 2.501 for ToV!

Hi Jorge,
Yes, I did make a shortcut of the "Unblocked.exe" file. Starting the game by clicking on it works fine, but no units show up. I've played through an entire skirmish with it to make sure.

I tried adding -modname Cheatmod to the properties line of "unblocked.exe", but the game just crashes to desktop when trying to load.

I tried adding -modname Cheatmod -dev to the properties line of "unblocked.exe", but got the same crash to desktop upon loading.

Okay, here's a thought . . . maybe the cheat mod IS working and I'm not "calling" for units correctly? For example, shift+spacebar is for selecting armies (what does it look like when an army is selected? is there a pop-up screen? do units show up at my base or my enemy's base? do units just "appear" or do they "run" onto the battlefield or do they "parachute" in?)

You were doing it correctly (for spawning stuff). You can't spawn stuff without cheatmod running, which unfortunately, it isn't. I will check the unblock.exe and try it myself.

EDIT 2: did you extract the files to your CoH folder (or move them there)? If not, you need to do that, create a shortcut to your desktop of it (right click and select create shortcut). Open its properties and in the target line at the end after the quotation mark, put
-modname CheatMod -dev exactly like that. Then run the shortcut and it should work.

Ok i will make my self clear.

I installed the mod fine and tried to enter through the icon in my main screen.
I entered the game and tried skirmish.NOTHING(i don't think there is a special button that enables em right ? i didn't show it anywhere)

I tried through Mod studio but again Failure.

My patch is 2.300 and i need help.Ah and hello i just registered a few min agoFirst, patience is a virtue. Many times you will have to wait a day before getting an answer.

You will need to use the modification Corsix released to allow you to play cheatmod

Still not working . . .

The first attempt used files opened in a safe, temporary folder and then added to Company of Heroes folder. That was the one that didn't work earlier.

So, as suggested, I removed everything and reinstalled Cheatmod directly into the Company of Heroes folder. It created a CHeatMod_v2.203 folder.

Then I reinstalled the "unblock.exe" patch directly into Company of Heroes folder. It created a COH2300dev folder. Remembering the instructions earlier, I opened that folder, and moved the "unblock.exe" directly into the Company of Heroes folder.

From there, I created a shortcut to my desktop (shortcut to "unblock.exe").

Then I opened the shortcut properties and added -modname CheatMod -dev to the end of the line (in fact, to make sure I got it exactly right, I just copied and pasted from the earlier post).

So I started it up. I got the THQ screen, Relic screen, nVidia screen, DivX screen, but when it started to load the game, it crashes to the desktop. :mad:

Okay, those are the exact steps I took. So, I must be doing something wrong. Hopefully, by spelling it all out, someone can point out my error. Thanks! :rolleyes:

I also just tried moving the original .exe file out (thinking the problem might be a conflict in the presence of two .exe files in the same folder). Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem either -- so I put it back.

Here is how I did it.

I unzipped the patch on my desktop. I moved both of the files that come with it into the CoH OF folder on my c: drive.

I then right clicked and selected create shortcut and it put it on my desktop. I then right clicked on properties for the shortcut on my desktop. I put in the -modname CheatMod -dev and clicked ok. It loaded up fine and worked.

I tried moving the RelicCOHSwap.bat file into the Company of Heroes folder (in case its presence was somehow required). Still crashes to desktop.

I tried retyping the target line (properties) of the RelicCOHUnblocked.exe shortcut in case it doesn't react well to pasted data. Still crashes to desktop.

So, perhaps CheatMod is not correctly installed. Here's what it currently looks like in my CoH folder:
Company of Heroes > CheatMod_v2.203 > CheatMod > Data > scar

CheatMod_2.203 folder has:
CheatMod folder
CheatMod.module
CheatMod.txt

CheatMod folder has:
Data folder

Data folder has:
scar folder
camera.lua

scar folder has:
cheatmod.scar
view.scar

So does this look right or do some files need to get moved to another location? I have tried it like this and then one time I tried removing the CheatMod_v2.203 folder and moved CheatMod (and its tree of files) directly into Company of Heroes folder. That didn't work either.

Or, is there something different about CoH:OF (Gold Edition) that makes CheatMod unworkable?

If your Cheatmod folder is named CheatMod_2.203, then you should add the same thing to the target of the shortcut. -modname CheatMod_2.203

Well, I know for certainty that the game is patched to 2.3 -- it says so at the bottom of the start-up screen each time I play using the normal RelicCoH.exe.

The game plays fine just with the RelicCoH.exe but I can't seem to use any .sgb maps or mods. With the help of CoHLauncher, I can play .sga maps (which have been great).

IT WORKS!! :eek:

TaG and dasuperseal got it on this one. I moved the CheatMod.module and CheatMod.txt into the Company of Heroes folder (outside the CheatMod folder) and it loaded just fine -- I even got it working on a map. I was playing American with a British ally and spawned 6 Churchill AVRE before I even got my barracks built.

I don't know how to select armies yet, but IT WORKS!! :D

So now the learning how to use it begins . . .

Thing is during the campaign.. I keep getting a Scar Fatal Error - Then it pauses.. its the cherbourg harbour one.. idk why.. Is it cos of the units.. or something?

um I just before i was about to take out the gun battery and had rangers pretty much everywhere with paratroopers and rifleman shooting everything...I was where the bridge is.. that connects the two sections.

Some germans were on my side and i was chasing them with two ranger squads, then it had the error and then paused itself.. everytime i press pause again, it would give me maybe less than a second of input. So i restarted the level..

Similar to before.. and it happened again... up till that level it works fine.

I also had the Shift+F10 and Shift+F1 cheats on it as well.. it never stuffed up with the FOW_RevealAll.. do I don't think that would have done it...

Is there anyway I can skip the level?

Did you have a lot of infantry and a lot of fighting? I'm not sure if there is a skip mission option available. I'm not sure if they have a cheat or something.

yeah about 10-25 rangers...10 - para's.

Thing is in the Hill mission in OF.. I had about 60 Infantry sections all fighting and it didnt screw up..

Damn about the mission thing.. Mission_win.. or something.. :P

Should i try it with less units?

The one i was on about in OF.. I played the whole thing without cheats.. but the one where i had no problems with massive amount of units and shooting was the defend the Hill one..(Brits)

The one with the weird results of stuff was the German one the first ep.. tried to spawn i think a AA Panzer (forgot its damn name.. and im a history freak :P ) Weirbelwind.. or something.. BAH.

Secure. I had that same problem when I got to the German H.Q. at the very end. To get rid of the Scar Error, I just kept unpausing it and letting it do the error again and unpausing it again for a while and it eventually ended.

Oh and I am having trouble with the recent internal fix by Corsix. When I install/extract it, (I have Winrar) I run the program and it doesn't work. The program says "The system cannot find the file specified. All done, have a nice day" I have tried to extract it to my CoH directory and I have tried leaving it how it is when I download the file. I don't know. Maybe I need to reinstall CoH: OF or maybe I am installing incorrectly. Any help would be appreciated! Oh but great mod! This mod keeps me playing CoH/CoH:OF and I have been using this mod probably since I think since it came out:D .

Yeah I would do that. I think it only happens in that mission... Sadly enough because that one is one of my favorites. But yes it will stop eventually just spawn a ton of units or just bombard the H.Q. until it crumbles.

Oh and I got my cheatmod working so nevermind on the help. I checked the .exe and the directory of the .exe was wrong.

BuckBoy, I don't know if this has been mentioned before but it would be nice if the taskbar hide option could be worked into the replays. At the moment you can hide the taskbar but it doesn't hide the team colours like it does in the game. Would be nice to record and take screenshots with nothing on the screen if you know what I mean. Just a hopeful suggestion :)

to add the weapons, they have to be droppable. It's not really that plausible unless he can make one that can drop (if thats even possible).

Has anyone noticed that if you secure a point with Panzer Elite the British flag can come up sometimes, this happened to me in campaign. Weird, get unequipped defenses in British with fast build on... Weird that I can still hear the 25 pounder talking even though it doesn't belong to me...

Noticed several changes between 2.100 & 2.203.
Wandering if this was intentional. :confused:
Can those "changes" be "manually" placed back in 2.203 scar file?

Under the Units List
- Shift+P is now stated as "single riflemen" (US)(2.203), whereas it was "medic" (US)(2.100)
- the "armour car" & "scout car w/attennas" is no longer available (PE)(2.203), previously assigned to "Shift+Q & Shift+W, respectively". All subsequent / following units have been moved up.

Under the Ability List
- is the "attrition" (Shift+Ctrl+W)(US)(2.203) the same as previous "allied war machine" (US)(2.100)?
- under the PE, "Off-Map Fallschirmjager" & "Off-Map Wirbelwind" previously from 2.100 are now not listed.

I haven't the time to completely test-out all the keys yet, but just noticed the above discprepancies, when i was going thru' the listing.

I've downloaded the mod, & so far it has worked for me. Looking forward to creating "hell" on the battlefield with this mod...:)

If you want some of the older features, while keeping some new items, then look through the current SCAR file and take the new ones and place them with the old SCAR. That should make them work, but then again I hardly know a thing about SCAR coding.

Multiplayer, (my friends suggeted i said this btw) so i can demonstrait the deadlies and non deadlies in the game... oh and for a bit of FUN :p

Tiger Ace (found in the 2nd last mission of invasion of normandy)

Tiger II (King Tiger) Camo, or if you can get camo for all the tanks (apart from american) would be superb

also, if you could get St Vith and Fire and Ice to work with the mod...

calm down. For all you know he is working on it. It should work online anyway if you and the other person have the same version. I don't know if it still does with OF, but it did with vCoH

i've tried those british paratroopers (sbps/races/allies_commonwealth/soldiers/commando_paratrooper_squad_sp.lua), but they look just the same as normal commando's. I guess you want to paradrop them into the game, but cheatmod currently has no option to do this. (it's a different kind of spawn).. I could program this, but then the hotkey system would probably get even more complicated.

My English is bad. Sorry for this. I have a problem with this Mod. Can i play only with friends with this Mod?

When i play a multiplayer Match with the Mod i can't see the open Matches (hosted) in die List from the other Gamers and i can't join in a Mulriplayer Match. When i play without the Mod is all okay and i can in all hosting Games from other Players.

Can i play with the Mod against other Players when they hosting a Game?

About the icon, is it the desktop one? If so, check the shortcut. Make sure it looks something like this

it's not so easy.. i have to implement new hotkeys acessible from the HQ, used as an ability.. that also means you have to select the HQ first before you can spawn anything.. so i don't think that mod would be so great.

When you install cheatmod, it should install in either the OF or the original CoH folder. the only thing i can think of why this might happen, is that Cheat Mod is run in -dev mode.

1. You could use the copy and paste command to clone buildings for cover or a tank that you would instantly get instead of changing races and finding out what number it is.

Yeah, i put the Botb skins in and removed the Panzer elite ones because they werent working (all you could see whats helmets and rifles) and a few maps.... that was for Cheat Mod though... i didnt do anything else, its only happening to cheat mod, maybe its the skins ?

i dont really use mods that much so i dont really know what to do, but i found it really easy to use this one, at the moment i think my game hasn't got the right patch, because the units are like frozen and dont move, but now im downloading 2.301 patch so i think that will help :)

So my question is this, what do I need to do to get the OLD ver of the Cheat Mod running again? I'd be happy just to get back there.

As far as I know, all will work. All you need to do is download and run the installer, then look on the first post for the newest version. Go to your Company of Heroes Directory (it should have things like RelicCoH, Engine, etc. From there, open up C:\Program Files\THQ\Company Of Heroes <insert Opposing Fronts here if you have it>\WW2\Data there should be a folder called scar. Place the second file you downloaded in there. If you need anymore help, just let us know.

and i uploaded version 2.301 just now.. that (hopefully) fixes compatibility bugs with older COH versions.. see first post also.

i doubt it.. these spyware scanners often find stuff in packed .exe files.. because they think it's all executable code.. but it's not, it's just data needed to extract the files.. so i think it's just false alarm.. anyways if you don't trust it you can still use the .zip file to install the mod. i made a new installer that checks if you have at least COH v2.1.. if you don't have it, it won't install.. (note: the COH version has nothing to do with the CheatMod version)

Ok, well when I run this, I go into skirmish and as soon as it loads it says Fatal AI Error, wtf?

I used the old cheat mod, loved it then I patched to play online and cant get this to work

Wow,wow,wow,wow, It worked :S I just uninstalled,(Opened installer and clicked uninstall) then reinstalled, if anyone else was having the same prob, try that :) I was uninstalling through Program features or what ever its called on Vista :P

whats the point in spawing a allied medic if they can't go pick up injured soldiers like they suppose to do and put them in a medic station

I found you can give medics a weapon (not shown in medic hands) and their job will likely riflemen. BTW I suggest make them have heal aura, attachable to squad or make them be combat medic.

How about reinstall vCoH and CoHOF WITHOUT PATCH vCoH then patch CoHOF following this

- CoHOF 2101-2102
- CoHOF 2102-2103
- CoHOF 2103-2201
- CoHOF 2201-2202
- CoHOF 2202-2300
- CoHOF 2300-2301

I never have problem with this way. but coz his cdkey you need to fix this yourself.

you only need the COH:OF dvd.. install it and patch to 2.301.. then add product key of COH (can be done in-game when you're online), so you have all 4 armies.

If the game paused and it said

Fatal AI Error - Execution Paused then run the installer while Cheat Mod is installed click uninstall (That deletes the folder) and reinstall, worked well for me :)

Patch COH:OF If you have it to 2.301 and then add CoH Product Key, then try the mod, should work fine, if you cant do this you must be retarded mate, sorry

hmm did you delete this file perhaps: Program Files\Company of Heroes\Release_Notes.txt ..my installer reads the version number from there.
or did you move coh to another directory after installation?.. if so you have to do manual install with the .zip.

Hi. One way would be to just copy the cheat mod scar file and to put it in the data file of the chosen mod. That should do it.

It's been awhile since I've had the chance to play CheatMod (stupid computer errors), but i don't believe the US nor the Wehrmacht have units binded to those keys. I might be wrong though.

Hi, i found your mod and started to play again coh and of just for fun, but i found a problem in the mission where you have to secure the airfield-hangars with the brit's.
Cant tell you the name of the mission because i'm playing a german version ;).

The problem i found is that i cant capture the hangars.
Even when i cleaned the whole<-! map still 2 out of 3 are not secured.
interessting is that 1 shortly after the mission breafing is secured.

i replayed the mission now 6 times, still the same problem

a lot of ppl have trouble with that map. There's still an enemy on the map somewhere, thus it's not triggering the victory sequence. I think there's a way to endmap with a victory so you can move on.

I'm finding that the veterancy upgrade isn't working for me. Everything else works perfectly. This has worked for me in previous versions, so it's extra strange. Using the default binding shift+;

Any thoughts, or a way to rebind it to another key?
